English Abstract

In this article, a novel switched-inductor power converter (SIPC) with continuously adjustable capability is developed based on switched-inductor (SI) unit. Compared to the previous SIPC with fixed current conversion ratio, the proposed one can not only regulate the output current by changing the number of SI units but also realize the continuous regulation for the output current. This capability significantly enhances the degree of freedom of output current regulation, making the proposed SIPC more favorable for current conversion applications. In addition, the parasitic capacitor of the component can be utilized together with switched inductor to form resonant tank to realize ZVS function for the switch with high voltage stress to promote compactness and efficiency. A detailed analysis of operating principle, extension, and design are presented. Finally, the feasibility and performance of the proposed SIPC are verified through simulation and experimental results.
