English Abstract
Wireless power transfer has been widely adopted in electric vehicles and other applications. To improve the misalignment tolerance, the double D (DD) coils is usually used. However, this structure exhibits high misalignment tolerance along only one horizontal axis (y-axis), while its performance degrades significantly along the orthogonal axis (x-axis). This letter proposes a novel rectifier for decoupled DD pads, in which the secondary DD coil is split into two sections, with a midpoint tap connected in series with a capacitor to achieve magnetic decoupling. Without affecting the system efficiency, the proposed approach realizes the summation of absolute mutual inductances between the primary and secondary sides. Consequently, the equivalent mutual inductance curves with respect to x-axis misalignment is improved, resulting in enhanced misalignment tolerance and interoperability. Besides, the proposed rectifier is applicable to various dual receiver coil structures without decoupling.
