English Abstract
Ripple communication technology, which adopts switching ripples of output voltages as carriers of information, enables digital communication between power electronic converters without dedicated communication lines and thus plays a potentially remarkable role in an energy internet. However, the existing orthogonal modulation of ripple communication has to be implemented under the orthogonality rule, which leads to a low communication rate. To solve this problem, a nonorthogonal frequency shift keying (FSK) modulation based on grouping L0 norm minimization is proposed in this article. By grouping basis functions, adding in virtual frequencies, and solving correlation matrix equations, the constraint of orthogonality rule is broken through. The presented method can greatly improve the communication rate and, furthermore, extend the scope of ripple communication to non-DC-DC converters. Numerical examples are provided, and experiments are carried out with a prototype system based on a couple of buck choppers. Numerical and experimental results verify the effectiveness of presented methodology.
